Not big on skiing but love the thrill of racing down a hill on a snow tube instead? Breckenridge tubing is almost as popular as skiing and snowboarding, and there are several places prospective tubers can go to have a blast. And, if you can’t find what you’re looking for in Breck, you don’t have to drive far to navigate to a good tubing hill. Check out a few places to find awesome tubing in Breckenridge and surrounding areas.
The Best Places for Snow Tubing Breckenridge Has to Offer
Unfortunately, the primary ski resort (Breckenridge Ski Resort) doesn’t offer tubing, but there are a few other spots to get in some free snow-tubing in the area.
Carter Park
Carter Park next to Breck Elementary School is a local favorite place for free snow tubing in Breckenridge. Anyone is welcome to visit the park and enjoy the hill when there is enough snow, but you must bring your own tube or grab one at a local market.
Runway Sledding Hill on Fraction Drive
A new spot to catch some wind, the Runway Sledding Hill on Fractio Drive is the perfect place to pack up the kids and get in some free sledding time. The hill is man-made, and there’s no fancy way to get back up without using your own two legs, but the hill remains groomed through the winter and is a lot of fun.
Where to Find Snow Tubing Near Breckenridge
Keystone Resort Snow Tubing Hill
With six lanes for tubing with varied intensity, the snow tubing hill at Keystone Resort is always a winter hit. For tickets, visit Mountain Services at Keystone near the Gondola base. The tubing lanes are open from Thanksgiving to early April, and this tubing experience costs $34 per hour. And making reservations before heading to Keystone is always recommended.
Town of Frisco Tubing Hill
Located in Frisco, this tubing hill boasts a 1,200-foot slope and a chair lift to give you a ride to the top after every trip. There is also an Adventure Park to find even more fun in the area. The hourly rate here is $26 to $30, depending on the day, with an additional charge of $10 for each extra hour. Discounts are available for Summit County and Frisco residents.
Copper Mountain Resort Tubing Hill in Frisco
Copper Mountain has four lanes for tubing in the East Village area of the resort property. You can slide down the slope solo or go in tandem with a pal, and there’s a Magic Carpet that takes tubers back to the top. Depending on when you go or the season, the cost is between $27 to $33 per hour.
